Recent Activites

Around 100 Farmer's Clubs have been formed. NABARD contributes Rs. 3000 every year for a period of 3 years and the sponsoring bank also pays Rs. 3000 for 2 years. This fund is used for conducting educational tour programs for farmers, useful reading material and for arranging talks for educating them regarding agriculture and farming

Total 50 Self Help Groups have been formed in different R & R sites. Out of these, 26 groups have been started in year 2005 and other 24 groups are running since last 3 to 4 years

The Self-Help groups of Nevariya R&R site organized Garba on Sunday, 9th October 2005. The residents of Nevariya took active role and participated in the program. There were about 1000 people which included the residents of around five other R&R sites who came to take part and enjoy the traditional Garba. Managers of SSPA who are working at various R&R sites to create awareness and improve their social status, gave them training to dance to the tune of local melody. Field Officers and staff members took initiative to extend necessary help to Self-help groups to organize the programme. Prizes were awarded to the three best performers.

An Education trip was organized by SSPA for the School Children of five R&R sites. 57 children and five teachers accompanied by Assistant Director Education Cell, Manager-Media & Doc., PRO and two other representatives of Education Cell visited Akshardham, Gandhinagar and Science City, Ahmedabad. The Children were picked up from their respective R&R sites along with their teacher around 5 am on 29th March 2006. On reaching Akshardham, they had their lunch and visited the temple. Later, they reached Science City and visited the Hall of Science & Energy Park. They were briefed in Gujarati by the staff of science city on various developments and inventions in the world of science. They took ride in the Thrill ride and experienced the adventure of going inside the pyramids, witnessed a 2-D IMAX movie called “Cosmic Voyage” and enjoyed The Musical Fountain.   More.. >>   Photographs & Video

Self Help Group Activities

New Group Activites majorly include:
  Ø Saving of amount decided per month
  Ø After six months, internal transaction of amount among the group
  Ø Record keeping & holdong a meeting per month
  Ø Workshop conducted for income generation
  Ø Future goal: To have linkage with bank for loans

Old Group Activites majorly include:
  Ø Saving of amount decided per month
  Ø Utility of amount saved through internal transaction and linkage with Banks and others
  Ø Organization for loans
  Ø Recording & documentation of the activities done by the group
  Ø Repayment of the amount of loan taken at regular time

Results:
  Ø Receieved loan for cattle
  Ø Utility of savings season for agricultural use
  Ø Utility of savings in social and cultural programme
  Ø Utility of savings in emergency circumstances
