Training Programm organized for office bearer of Self

Programm has been organized on 30 January 2008
for bearers of Self Help Groups formed at varous R &
R Sites. This programm has been organized by S.S.P.A.
& NABARD.

Permission given to increase Dam Height |
Narmada Control Authority gave permission to increase
the dam height from EL 110.64 to 121.92 mt on 09/Mar/2006.
It was completed on 31st December, 2006.

Kanya Kelavani at Schools of R&R Sites During June-2008 : |

Kanya Kelavani was organised at Pania-1 and Nimeta R&R Sites on Friday 13 June, 2008. Shri M. V. Pargi, IAS, Joint Commissioner (Reh.) inaugurated the program and distributed school bags to children at Pania-1. Shri Y. M. Karud & Shri G. S. Parmar Assistant Commissioner and other officers of SSPA attended the programme at Nimeta and distributed school bags.

Trip organized by SSPA for the School Children of
R & R Sites |
An
Education trip was organized by SSPA for the School
Children of five R & R Sites. 57 children and
five teachers accompanied by Senior Officers, visited Akshardham, Gandhinagar and Science City,
Ahmedabad on 29th March 2006. They visited Akshardham
& Science City. At the Science City, they visited the Hall
of Science & Energy Park. They were briefed
in Gujarati by the staff of science city on various
developments and inventions in the world of science.
They took ride in the Thrill ride and experienced
the adventure of going inside the pyramids, witnessed
a 2-D IMAX movie called “Cosmic Voyage” and enjoyed
The Musical Fountain.
A group of 76 children from six R & R Sites
accompanied by teachers and officers of S.S.P.A.
visited Science City on 6th February 2007. The
Children had a wonderful time going around the
Science City. It was a perfect blend of education
and entertainment. Watching 3D movie at the IMAX
theatre, experience in the thrill rider, visit to
Hall of Science and watching the musical fountain
were unique.This will pave way to the thought
process in their minds.
They also visted Akshardham at Gandhinagar.

Total Sanitation Campaign |
|
Total Sanitation Campaign was organized for the
Project Affected Families (PAF) jointly by SSPA and
Jilla Panchayat at Baroda and Rajpipla. PAFs from
various R&R sites attended in large number. The
gathering was addressed by Joint Commissioner
(Planning) SSPA, DDO Vadodara and other Senior
Officers of SSPA.

Over
100 Farmer's Club set up |
|
Around 100 Farmer's Clubs have been formed. NABARD
contributes Rs. 3000 every year for a period of 3
years and the sponsoring bank also pays Rs. 3000 for
2 years. This fund is used for conducting
educational tour programs for farmers, useful
reading material and for arranging talks for
educating them regarding agriculture and farming.

Seeds distribution to Farmers |
|
During the Year 2006 -2007, The Cell
organized training programmes for Farmers at various
R&R sites.
9794 kg of Seeds costing Rs.1.55
lakhs were distributed to 1352 PAPs at 25% subsidy.
124 Group meetings were held at Various R&R sites
for creating awareness about improved & hybrid
seeds, new pesticides, modern techniques of
agriculture, various irrigation systems, new
guidelines for scientific and advanced agriculture
systems and regarding loan facility available to
farmers. |

Tree Plantation at R & R Site |
In addition to various welfare
activities organized for the benefit of the
Project Affected Families. SSPA undertook
plantation programmers during the year for
preserving Eco-friendly environment of the R & R
Sites. This activity was supported GSFC &
GNFC by sponsoring tree guards for total eight R &
R Site.

Multi Speciality Medical Camps for Project Affected Families |
|
Total Ten Multi Speciality Medical Camps were
organized from November 2006 to January 2007 for the
benefit of Project Affected Families(PAFs) of Sardar
Sarovar Project. These Camps were held at Community
Health Centre, Mangal Bharti Golagamdi and Nasvadi.
The doctors of Sayaji Hospital Vadodara from the
specialised fields like Skin & V.D, ENT,
Ophthalmology, Orthopedic and TB & Chest, attended
the camps and offered treatment on the spot. The
patients were provided with free medicines also.
Around 1000 cases were benefited by these camps.
